Accountants and advisors to Listed Places of Worship should be aware that following an announcement this morning, the Listed Place of Worship grant scheme will be renewed for a further 12 months to 31 March 2026.

In a significant change to the scheme claims will be capped at £25,000 for a place of worship between April 25 and March 26. Whilst an estimated 94% of claims made last year would have been paid in full, there is uncertainty for projects extending beyond 31 March 2026 and where the VAT to be incurred between April 25 and March 26 will exceed £25,000.
